These terms govern your use of the Homespoken app. By using the app you agree to them.
Homespoken teaches heritage languages through lessons and spoken conversation with an AI tutor. The app is currently free to use. Fair-use limits apply to voice features to keep the service available for everyone.
An anonymous account is created when you first use the app; you may upgrade it with an email address to save progress across devices. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account.
Tutor replies, feedback, and translations are generated by artificial intelligence. They are intended as learning aids and may occasionally be inaccurate. Homespoken is not a substitute for professional translation or certified language instruction.
Do not misuse the service — including attempting to disrupt it, circumvent usage limits, use it for unlawful purposes, or submit content that is abusive or infringes others' rights.
The app, its content, and its branding belong to Homespoken. You retain rights to the content you create (such as your spoken practice); you grant us the limited license needed to process it to provide the service.
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homespoken is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service at any time.
We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted at this address with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
